This week we are asking you to think about what you enjoyed in Year 1 and starting to get ready for Year 2.
In Maths there are a range of activities to recap what we've been learning this year.
If you would like your new teacher to see your 'All about me' poster, email it to us and we will pass it on.
Remember to keep practising your reading, writing and number bonds over the summer break.
Thank you for being super stars this year!
Mrs Wilde and Miss Garner
Below is the story called 'Dear Teacher' by Amy Husband all about a child starting a new year at school. Have a watch and enjoy! We hope you are more excited about being in Year 2 than Michael!
The maths challenges encompass different maths skills from Year 1. Have a go! Which skills are easy for you? Which are more tricky? Is there anything you would like to practise over the summer?
Prayers for at home
Why not start and end the day with a prayer as we do in school.
As well as making up their own prayers, there are some lovely ones on the TenTen website:
Please keep practising number bonds to 10 for addition and subtraction (see below) and complete the maths games saved in your 'to-dos' on Purple Mash (these logins are in your home learning pack).
Maths songs that we love:
Thank you so much to all the children and parents who made this wonderful song!
We absolutely love it!!
Don't Worry, Be Happy - click here to watch your friends and sing along.
Look what we've been up to!
It is a strange and worrying time for all of us at the moment
and it's important to talk about how we feel.
The pack below has lots of practical activities which can be done with children
to aid well-being during this time.
Ruth Miskin Training will be repeating their Speed Sounds lessons each morning. The lessons cover sets 1, 2, and 3. A wealth of films and resources are also available to help parents support their children during this time.
